Scottish judge Lord Reed has a tough act to follow as he takes over from Lady Hale as the president of the UK's Supreme Court. Lady Hale and her famous brooch collection became headline news last year as the highest court in the land came into conflict with the UK government over its prorogation of parliament. However, the distinguished and "pioneering" justice has now officially retired from her post, having turned 75.
