Brandon Hasbrouck is an assistant professor at Washington and Lee University School of Law. Some of my colleagues, as well as students at Washington and Lee University, are petitioning the board of trustees to remove Robert E. Lee’s name , and all references to the Confederacy, from the university. I hope they succeed. They are right that it is no longer acceptable (much less profitable or convenient) to be associated with Lee.
