For so long, France—the land of baguettes, the Louvre , and joie de vivre —has been the most popular tourist destination in the world. In 2018, it’s estimated that 87 million people visited, 23 million heading to Paris alone. But, according to a new report, a new country, on a new continent, will soon take the top spot. Per the research company Euromonitor International, China will become the world’s most visited country by 2030. There’s a couple factors at play: one, economic growth across Asia, which means people have more expendable income to spend on travel.
