Orbit , a startup that is building tools to help organizations build communities around their proprietary and open-source products, today announced that it has raised a $4 million seed funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz’s Martin Cassado. A number of angel investors, including Chris Aniszczyk Jason Warner and Magnus Hillestad , as well as the a16z’s Cultural Leadership Fund also participated, in addition to previous backers Heavybit and Harrison Metal. The company describes its service as a “community experience platform.” Currently, Orbit’s focus is on Developer Relations and Community teams, as well as open-source maintainers.
